
Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao have finally agreed to a fight set in Las Vegas on May 2nd.
Fans have longed to see these two box for years. This historic match will name one as the world champion. It will also be the biggest money maker in the history of the sport. Mayweather and Pacquiao are so closely matched, the fight's already broken monetary records. Since the winner of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will be declared the No. 1 fighter of the era, prices to witness the event are skyrocketing. Showtime and HBO will air the Pay-per-view event for close to $100. Ticket prices are expected to range from $1000 to $5000, with only about 1000 or less on sale to the public. The fight is projected to gross at least $400 million, with $100 million or so going to each fighter.
Mayweather (at 38) is a very worthy opponent. He has frustrated past opponents with his legendary moves. At 36, Pacquiao has speed and agility that will make this a close fight. Both fighters are enduring rigorous training and conditioning. Hall-of-famers Michael Buffer and Jimmy Lennon Jr. have signed up to be the ring announcers. This historic event will go down in history and is one not to be missed.
