
A report commissioned by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has detailed individual spending by visitors to the city and looked at the overall impact of the leisure industry on the state. On average, visitors to Las Vegas spent $723 each during their trips on everything apart from gambling in 2014, which is a total rise of $33 over the average spend of visitors in 2013. The report also looked into the spending habits of leisure visitors and convention based visitors to show those visiting for a convention spent more than those arriving for a vacation.
The overall impact of the leisure industry on Las Vegas was also detailed and showed the industry brings around $50 billion to the city each year. One in four workers in Las Vegas are employed by the leisure industry, providing a grand total of 25 percent of all wages paid to individuals in the city.
