It doesn't rain often in Vegas but when it does those living in Las Vegas seem to have a strident reaction to the uncommon wet weather. In the sporadic moment when the skies open up and the rain falls these 7 things seem to happen.
1. One's ability to drive is forgotten
In many places where it rains a lot folks just adjust their driving habits and drive a bit slower. More space is left between cars while driving and drivers are resigned to not making it home as quickly as they normally would under better driving conditions. When it rains in Vegas, everyone seems to crank up the speed and end up getting deluged with water because their cars have been submerged with wetness all the way home.
2. Social media is flooded with posts about the rain
In a matter of moments Twitter feeds and Facebook walls are filled with posts about the rain like it never happened before.
3. People stay inside because of the flood
Not being accustomed to seeing a lot of rain all at once most folks hunker down inside their houses like it's the flood coming to carry Noah and the animals away.
4. Camera phones are busily being used to snap selfies of folks dancing in the rain
Since it doesn't happen all that often, why not?
5. Lower temperatures are a locals' best friend
... but the humidity is just not conducive to a good hair day
6. Everyone looks a bit dampened since no one owns an umbrella
Really though why buy an umbrella if it only rains once in 6 months?
7. One forgets how to drive in the rain
I think I already mentioned that huh?
There's no need to drive when you have a driver and champagne chilling in the back seat. So book your ride now!
