Only a true Las Vegas resident will know how to survive New Year’s Eve on the Strip. This is one of those activities you only need to experience once just to say "I did it!", but it also demands proper planning ahead.

Pack up some warm clothes including gloves, a hat, long underwear a thick coat, and some boots. Or at least shoes that are large enough to allow for an extra pair of socks to protect against the cold temperatures. The surrounding roads will also be jammed far later  than 1:00 a.m. A far better plan would be to go with a group and travel in a private car or limousine.

When you book with a car service you won't need to stress about parking, gas, a designated driver amongst your friends or any of the annoyances that come with driving yourself.

If you plan to be indoors, you should start booking your reservations as soon as possible. Casinos are often closed to non-guests when the Strip starts filling with noisy partiers, and restaurants may close their doors due to excessive customers.

Bring your own bottles but do so with plastic containers since glass is not permitted. Also make sure to bring at least one bottle of water. On December 31, curfew starts at 6:00 p.m., do not bring any individuals who are under 18.

To watch the fireworks, watch from the top of a parking garage, but not from one that is near tall buildings. The street also works if you go to a place with a clear view. There are some properties that participate. These are MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Venetian, Treasure Island and Stratosphere.
